Partnerships & Program Development Manager – Europe

In a challenging, international and dynamic environment   

Full-time 36 hours/week, hybrid/Amsterdam, 1-year contract subject to renewal, starting asap  

Purpose of position

The Partnerships & Programme Development Manager – Europe leads RNW Media’s regional presence, partnerships, and programmes across Europe. The position develops and maintains a recognisable, region-specific programme approach in line with organisational strategy, with a focus on strengthening media ecosystems, fostering inclusive dialogue, and supporting information integrity. Working closely with media organisations, civil society actors, and institutional stakeholders (including European institutions and donor bodies), the manager builds strategic partnerships, identifies funding opportunities, and leads project implementation in the region. As the default project lead for regional initiatives, this role ensures that RNW Media’s focus areas, media viability and information integrity, are translated into impactful, contextually relevant programmes.

Your key responsibilities

Programme Development & Delivery

  • Lead the development and implementation of RNW Media’s programme portfolio in Europe
  • Ensure programmes are aligned with organisational strategy, thematic priorities, and impact goals
  • Oversee project implementation, reporting, compliance, and partner coordination

Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Establish and grow partnerships with media organisations, civil society actors, and European networks
  • Build and maintain relationships with institutional stakeholders, including EU institutions and national-level actors
  • Represent RNW Media in relevant networks, conferences, and strategic fora

Fundraising & Proposal Development

  • Identify and contribute to funding opportunities, including EU funding calls, foundations, and institutional donors
  • Support concept development and proposal writing as part of the Fundraising Team
  • Align programme design with donor priorities and organisational strategy

Collaboration & Organisational Alignment

  • Work closely with internal teams (Programmes, Media Innovation, Impact, Finance) to ensure coordinated delivery
  • Contribute to organisational planning and alignment through the Programmes Implementation Team
  • Connect regional partners to the Vine community, strengthening collaboration and shared learning

What you bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
  • 4–6 years of experience in partnerships, programme development, or fundraising in an international context
  • Experience working with European institutions, donors, or networks is an asset
  • Strong experience in project management and programme implementation
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with attention to detail
  • Experience working across teams and managing multiple priorities
  • A proactive, self-sufficient, and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written); additional European languages are an asset

At RNW Media we have a competitive Compensation & Benefits package. This job is graded in salary scale 9 (€ 3,833 – € 5,513). Your salary and placement within the scale will be dependent on experience and expertise. We offer a 1-year contract, subject to renewal.
