The discussions helped identify actors, topics, and trends dominating online discourse and explored ways to build\u00a0counter and alternative narratives\u00a0that promote gender equality and rights online in Kenya (and beyond).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.rnw.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Kenya-trip-Website-1-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21061 lazyload\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rnw.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Kenya-trip-Website-1-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.rnw.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Kenya-trip-Website-1-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.rnw.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Kenya-trip-Website-1-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.rnw.media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Kenya-trip-Website-1.png 1366w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1024px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1024\/576;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Day 2: Spotlight on Mental Health of Media-Makers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">We hosted a\u00a0consultation workshop\u00a0on the mental health and wellbeing of journalists and digital media makers in Kenya \u2014 the\u00a0first-of-its-kind study\u00a0in East Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-content-justification-center is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-23441af8 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Bringing together 40 experts from the media and mental health sectors, the workshop offered evidence-informed insights and practical strategies to strengthen mental health support for media professionals, both online and offline.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Days 3\u20135: Fellowship on Reporting Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">RNW Media co-hosted a\u00a0five-day fellowship\u00a0where journalists, content creators, and advocates explored how to report on TFGBV through a\u00a0rights-based, gender-sensitive, and survivor-centred lens. The Hub will provide high-quality, inclusive, and forward-looking training programs for journalists, digital content creators, media practitioners, and communications professionals across East Africa.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-6c531013 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-medium-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cWe believe that media is a cornerstone of healthy, informed societies.
