The challenges around decent work are particularly pertinent to the Arab world’s most populous country, Egypt. The online platform Masaraat focuses on economic inclusion for young people, since 34% of youth with secondary or higher education are unemployed.
We are pleased to announce that we have just launched an innovation award that will support hub members (individuals and/or groups) to come up with new and unconventional solutions to real problems and challenges, with the aim of improving delivery of digital comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) to young people online.
Art can be a powerful tool for social change – going beyond the borders that mark our lands or the languages we speak. It can capture the human stories behind social injustices and inspire action. Together with ARTIVIST, we’re delighted to offer a home to engaging pieces of art focusing on social change!
Media and digital media play essential roles in citizen participation and inclusive governance. We are also witnessing global civil servants and NGO professionals finding themselves at a loss on how to strategically and effectively use and engage media to amplify their messages to broader audiences.
Last month, we had an incredible time at our RNW Media Welcome Event to commemorate our new office space in the Koepel in Haarlem and our 75th anniversary! We were delighted to be joined by a panel of changemakers who shared their experiences using digital media and data to co-create safe digital (civic) spaces for change and advocate for digital rights.
With the kind support of UNESCO, we are delighted to announce that at RNW Media, we are setting up an online community of practice (CoP) for digital content creators developing and sharing information about sexual and reproductive health well-being, relationships, and much more.

As part of our International Women’s Day campaign, we launched the digital coffee table book, Under Attack, Still We Rise! – a tribute to women media makers who, despite facing relentless online violence, continue to speak out, shape narratives and defend press freedom worldwide.
AlgoSpeak is coded language used to avoid being flagged or blocked by algorithms on social media, search engines, and other digital platforms. Co-created with partners, our website documents these creative workarounds.
